Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Home & Taste handles personal data when you use our website, Studio and browser extension.

Who is responsible

Home & Taste operates this service and is the controller of personal data described here. Our privacy contact is [email protected].

Data we use

We process account details such as your name and email address; profile details and photos you choose to add; Studio projects, client records, product selections, favourites, comments and other content you save; and support or sign-in messages. When you browse the public catalogue, we process your searches and the products you view. If you use the clipper, it reads a page only after you grant the browser permission and choose to clip it. It sends the selected page details to Home & Taste for extraction and review. A product you save may be added to the shared catalogue and treated as public; your edits and Studio records remain associated with your account or Studio.

Why we use it

We use account and Studio data to provide the service you request, authenticate you, keep your work available and support collaboration. We use service and security data to protect the service, prevent abuse, diagnose errors and maintain reliability. With analytics enabled, we use cookieless usage data to understand and improve the product. We use these data for contract performance, legitimate interests in operating and improving a secure service, and consent where the law requires it.

Analytics, cookies and diagnostics

The site uses essential authentication and preference storage, including a sign-in session and a saved language choice. Product analytics may be enabled through PostHog in cookieless mode: it does not use cookies or local storage and uses a server-side hash to count visits. Signed-in analytics profiles can include your account ID and email; event properties are designed not to contain personal data. Error and performance diagnostics may be sent to Sentry and our observability systems. These are configured to omit or redact credentials, request bodies, query values and other sensitive fields. Local development may have different settings.

Sharing and service providers

We share data with providers that help us run the service, including hosting and database infrastructure, object storage and image delivery, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring and AI-assisted product extraction or classification. They process data on our instructions or under their own terms where applicable. We do not sell personal data. Product information and images you save through the clipper may be published in the shared product catalogue. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people and the service.

International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we use an applicable transfer mechanism and safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular transfer.

How long we keep information

We keep account and Studio information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. We retain other records only for as long as needed for the purposes above, including security, legal and accounting obligations. Some operational data expire automatically; for example, temporary clipper observations are short lived. Public catalogue information may remain after the account activity that contributed it, because it is shared product information rather than a private Studio record. You can ask us to delete or correct personal data, subject to legal obligations and the rights of others.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or complain to your data protection authority. You can update some profile and Studio information in the product. To exercise another right or ask a question, email [email protected]. We may ask for information needed to verify your request.

Security and children

We use access controls and technical safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. The service is not designed for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our practices change. We will update the date below and, when appropriate, notify you in the service. Last updated: 16 October 2026. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
